How does regression therapy work?
By bringing into our conscious awareness past memories of the thoughts and beliefs causing us problems in our life right now allows a catharsis to take place so we can move on.
Regression is about unravelling what is blocking or sabotaging us going forward. By bringing into our conscious awareness past memories of the thoughts and beliefs causing us problems in our life right now provides the opportunity for a catharsis to take place. Once we understand how we became the person we are today gives us the insight to want to change what no longer serves us in the present. It can also unlock hidden potential that has been repressed in the past due to circumstances that no longer apply any more. In short, it works by opening up a different way of thinking that can promote personal growth and development.
Who may benefit from regression?
Almost anyone that genuinely wants to understand how they became the person they are today and who is interested in promoting their own personal growth and development.
It can be most helpful to those suffering with emotional and psychological disorders, unwanted habits and undersirable feelings.
Does it involve going into past lives?
Sometimes - it depends on whether the root of your issue or blockage is in this life or in a past life.
If the root of your issue or blockage is in a past life then we will need to access and heal those past life memories using past life regression but it may be that that we also have to heal memories from this life before moving into past lives. The important point is to find and heal the source of your problem where ever it is located. It is perfectly possible that your issues are confined to your present existance and in that case there will be no need to regress you into past lives to get a resolution.
What is your approach?
First, to make sure I treat the source of your presenting issue rather than its sysmptoms. Second, as all clients are different, to taylor the therapy to meet your specific needs instead of using a pre-set format.
It is often the case that only the symptoms of an issue are presented for treatment rather than the underlying cause(s). Treatment of symptoms at best only provides a short term solution. So I believe that it is worth ensuring at the outset that we discover what is at the root of your issue before embarking on any treatment. Once we do that, I should be in much better position to taylor the therapy to help you resolve your real issues. In this way there is a far greater chance that I can help you find a more permanent solution to your problems.
What do you use regression for?
Essentially to unravel and reveal the source of a clients presenting issue so I can find the most appropriate treatment. It avoids treating symptoms instead of the real underlying issue.
None of today’s problems are created in the present, they always have there origin sometime in the past. The techniques of regression help identify the underlying cause of an issue so it can be more effectively treated. It can be helpful in healing and resolving phobias, stress, anxiety, insomnia, overcoming fear, anger management, relationship issues, sexual problems, lack of confidence, low esteem, unwanted habits, addictions, poor performance, trauma and grief, weight management in fact any human discomfort that has its origin in the past.
Is it easy to regress?
Most clients manage to master the techniques in the first session but I do have a relaxation CD that will help you become familiar with the exercise beforehand.
Essentially there are three skills involved, all of which improve with practice but are often learned in the first session:
1) The ability to relax: I have many proven relaxation techniques that will help you relax.
2) Becoming familiar with how you sense your inner world, which will be similar to how you recall past memories now: I will guide and assist you in accessing your inner world.
3) The third skill is learning to accept what comes through from your past memories, without questioning what’s going on e.g. you may be surprised by what you have suppressed: I will guide and help you to explore your past experiences.
If you feel you would like a head start I have a relaxation CD to help you with this process.
Could I get stuck in regression?
No, I will be guiding you into and out of your past experience. If left alone you may either drift into sleep (waking later feeling refreshed) or find yourself naturally returning to normal consciousness in your own time.

Can bringing past memories into the present give us more problems?
The primary purpose of doing regression is to heal past memories that are causing problems in the present and to bring through insight and understanding. Your unconscious mind will protect you from any memories you are not ready to deal with yet.
When things are in the unconscious it doesn't mean they're not affecting us; it just means we have little conscious awareness of them.
What if I can’t remember what might be causing me problems?
You should always get something that we can work with in a healing capacity. At the very least you'll be learning and developing the skills you need to regress into those past memories.

Who would you not recommend regression?
I would not normally recommend it for those suffering from epilepsy, psychosis and those on medication for mental illness.
If the effects of these illnesses are only minimal then it may be possible to consider doing a session providing the right medical approval is given.
Do you record the session?
Normally yes but it always remains confidential. As it is a digitial recording I can either give you a copy of the file or for a small fee burn it onto a CD.
The sound file created from the digital recording is too big to e-mail but if you are able to bring a memory stick then I can give you a copy of the file after the session. Alternatively I can burn it onto a CD, although this may require some editing as these have a limit of 80 minutes of recording time. Also as it can take 10 - 15 minutes to burn it onto the CD it may not be practical to do all of this at the end of the session. The fee for the CD will depend on how much work is involved but if it is relatively straight forward then it will be between £5 to £10.
How long does a session take?
I usually allow 1.5 for the first session because I need to take your case history. Any subsequent sessions can be from 1 to 1.5 hours depending on your aims and objectives.

How often do I need to come for sessions?
This will depend on your needs and requirements and whether you find the session works for you. I normally check with your higher mind at the end of the session to see if and when we need to do any further work together.

How much does it cost?
I normally negotiate the price depending on how many sessions you book but for a one-off session I charge £55 for 1hour, £70 for 1.5 hours and £80 for 2 hours (see Services).
Once the first session is over, we should know at that point if any more follow up sessions are required and we can then factor this into the price charged. (see Services).
What state am I going to be in when I leave?
You'll be in a normal, everyday, alert state of mind but aware of your regression experience and what that means to you.

Do you use hypnosis?
Not always. In the first session we spend some time seeing which ways of relaxing you like the most and we build on those. It's more helpful to do what suits you because everybody is different.
It is possible to access past memories without going through a formal hypnosis induction or going into a deep trance.
How long have you been doing regression work for?
Quite a long time now. I was introduced to it during my training with at EOS seminars over 3 years ago and then did a two specialist courses covering regression and past life regression at the Institute of Clinical Hypnosis (ICH).
