How does NLP work?
NLP works by utilising the power of your own mind to rapidly change the way you think and act for the better. The techniques I use in NLP will help illuminate how you can achieve your goals and become more effective at living life.
It is a collaborative effort however; I facilitate the session but need your participation in the process to help you get the best results.
Who may benefit from NLP?
Almost anyone that genuinely wants to bring about beneficial changes in their life to achieve their goals.
The techniques teach how you can adopt more successful models of human excellence, so you can think, communicate and manage yourself, and others, more effectively.
How does NLP differ from Hypnotherapy?
NLP differs from Hypnotherapy in that it is more ‘goal oriented’ and you will be much more active and participatory in an NLP session (‘Motion creates emotion’ – Anthony Robbins).
Although I don’t use hypnosis in NLP, you will find the techniques help you to re-train your unconscious mind in a smiliar manner to hypnotherapy and this is why they can work so well together. One therapy is able to re-enforce the other.
What is your approach for NLP?
To tailor the therapy and NLP techniques to meet your needs.
What is most important is to explore your presenting issue to find out what is causing your difficulty/discomfort in achieving your goals. Once we have done that we can then find the most suitable techniques to help improve your situation.
What do you use NLP for?
Typically for treating phobias, stress, anxiety, overcoming fear, anger management, enhancing relationships, sexual problems, low esteem, unwanted habits, addictions, improving performance and achieving goals.
In addition to teach clients how they can adopt more successful models of human excellence, so they can think, communicate and manage themselves, and others, more effectively. By doing this they automatiically
become more effective at living life.
Who would you not recommend NLP?
I would not normally recommend it for those suffering from epilepsy, psychosis and those on medication for mental illness.
If the effects of these illnesses are only minimal then it may be possible to consider doing a NLP session providing the right medical approval is given.
How long does a NLP session take?
This will depend on your requirements and whether we decide to use other therapies. A NLP session on its own will normally fit comfortably into 1 hour.
It isn't a process that should be rushed so I recommend you always allow a little extra time (15-20min) in case the session runs over the allotted time frame.
How often do I need to come for NLP sessions?
This will depend on your needs and requirements and whether you find the sessions beneficial.
It may take several sessions before the real benefits manifest themselves. I normally check with your ‘higher mind’ at the end of each session to see if any ‘unfinished business’ remains.
How much does a NLP session cost?
How much does a NLP session cost?
I normally negotiate the cost depending on how many sessions you book but for a one-off session I charge £55 for an hour (see Services).
Once the first session is over, we should know at that point if any more follow up sessions are required and we can then factor this into the price charged for that particular session. (see Services).
Do you record the NLP session?
Normally yes but it always remains confidential. As it is a digitial recording I can either give you a copy of the file or for a small fee burn it onto a CD.
The sound file created from the digital recording is too big to e-mail but if you are able to bring a memory stick then I can give you a copy of the file after the session. Alternatively I can burn it onto a CD, although this may require some editing as these have a limit of 80 minutes of recording. Also as it can take 10 - 15 minutes to burn it onto the CD it may not be practical to do all of this at the end of the session (So I may have to post it to you later) . The fee for the CD will depend on how much work is involved but if it is relatively straight forward then I normally charge £5.
Do you combine NLP with other therapies?
Yes, most often with hypnotherapy as theses two therapies dovetail very well together.
Of course it will depend on your goals and objectives for the session and whether there is any need for other therapies.
Are you able to do home visits for NLP?
For NLP yes.
I don’t usually do home visits for hypnotherapy because of the likelihood of interruption but this is something we can discuss.
How long have you been doing NLP for?
Over three years now. I got my Master NLP Hypnotherapist Diploma and NLP Practitioner Certificate from EOS Seminars in Bournemouth.
I am also included in the specialist registers of the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) for NLP.
Do I have to be hypnotised for NLP?
No.
Although we make use of your unconscious mind NLP doesn’t require hypnosis.
