How does EFT work?
EFT works by stimulating well established energy meridian points in the body to clear negative energy patterns.
It is like an emotional version of acupuncture but without the needles.
Who may benefit from EFT?
EFT offers promise to people who suffer from many emotional and physical issues.
When appropriate, I use it to help clients suffering from phobias, stress, anxiety, fear, anger, physical pain, addictions, poor performance and trauma.
What is your approach to using EFT?
To tailor the therapy to meet your needs. I normally use EFT to re-enforce a session that also includes other therapies such as hypnotherapy and NLP.
The most important thing is to explore your presenting issue to find out what is actually causing your difficulty or discomfort i.e. your symptoms. Once we have done that we can then choose the most suitable techniques to help resolve your issue. If we decide to use EFT I will give you a crib sheet to remind you of the meridian points so you can practice the routine at home.
What do you use EFT for?
In general to help clients with their emotional issues.
I would typically incorporate it into a session with a client suffering from a phobia, fear, anxiety, panic attacks or who needs help in learning to control and manage their emotions. So it is helpful for any fear based issues but also for managing anger, physical pain and trauma.
Who would you not recommend EFT?
I would not normally recommend it for those suffering from epilepsy, psychosis and those on medication for mental illness.
I
f the effects of these illnesses are only minimal then it may be possible to consider doing an EFT session providing the right medical approval is given.
How long does an EFT session take?
The EFT techniques can be learned in a matter of 5-10 minutes and would be something you could practice at home (you will receive a crib sheet to remind you of the meridian points).
Normally I would teach you the techniques as a part of a session incorporating other therapies such as hypnotherapy and NLP. The length of these sessions will depend on your requirements but will usually fit into an hour or an hour and a half maximum.
How often do I need to come for EFT sessions?
I would normally expect to be able to teach you the EFT techniques in one session.
I will also check with your ‘higher mind’ at the end of each session to see if any ‘unfinished business’ remains. If it does or if you feel you need ‘a refresher’ on the techniques then we can always book a further session if necessary.
How much does an EFT session cost?
How much does it cost?
How much does it cost?
I normally negotiate the cost depending on how many sessions you book but for a one-off session I charge £55 for an hour (see Services).
Once the first session is over, we should know at that point if any more follow up sessions are required and we can then factor this into the price charged for that particular session. (see Services).
Do you record the EFT session?
Normally yes but it always remains confidential. As it is a digitial recording I can either give you a copy of the file or for a small fee burn it onto a CD.
The sound file created from the digital recording is too big to e-mail but if you are able to bring a memory stick then I can give you a copy of the file after the session. Alternatively I can burn it onto a CD, although this may require some editing as these have a limit of 80 minutes of recording. Also as it can take 10 - 15 minutes to burn it onto the CD it may not be practical to do all of this at the end of the session (So I may have to post it to you later) . The fee for the CD will depend on how much work is involved but if it is relatively straight forward then I normally charge £5.
Do you combine EFT with other therapies?
Yes, almost always.
Yes, almost always. Of course it will depend on your goals and objectives for the session and whether there is any need for other therapies.
Are you able to do home visits?
For EFT yes.
I don’t usually do home visits for hypnotherapy because of the likelihood of interruption but this is something we can discuss.
How long have you been doing EFT for?
Over three years now.
I was taught the techniques as part of my Master NLP Hypnotherapist Diploma I was awarded from EOS Seminars in Bournemouth.
Do I have to be hypnotised for EFT?
No.
EFT doesn’t require hypnosis.
